2 apples sliced vertically and cored

1/4 c water

2 t cinnamon

2 t ground cloves

2 T unsalted butter

4 t organic light brown sugar

aluminum foil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Place apples core side up in a pyrex baking dish that just fits them.  Add the water to the bottom of the baking dish.  Top each of them with 1/2 T of butter, 1/2 t cinnamon, 1/2 t cloves and 1 t of sugar.  Cover tightly with the aluminum foil.  Bake covered for one hour.

I like to serve these sprinkled with Michelle's granola or maple glazed pecans (see recipe), and topped with plain coconut milk yogurt or cashew cream.
